这篇文章介绍了关于老年人身体结构的当今概念。特别要注意肌肉减少症的可能原因和致病方面,以及对它熟知的现代诊断方法。衰老过程不可避免地与身体结构的各种变化结合在一起。这种与年龄有关的变化可以通过三个主要过程来描述:骨骼组织的生长和矿物质密度的降低(骨质减少和骨质疏松);肌肉质量逐渐下降;脂肪组织的增加(肌肉减少症和肌肉减少肥胖症),并其重新分配给中央和心脏脂肪蓄积。肌肉减少症和骨质疏松症被认为是主要的老年综合症。这些病理状况极大地降低了老年人的生活质量;为无法自理的老年人提供生活环境,需要长期护理,增加住院频率,并分析最后导致不良的原因。
